NGDCs .. Thoughtful to think about another version of Mahabali's story in tune with the ancient stories .. 

Mahabali was the former ruler of all the whole world spreading his message of sacrifice on all 365 days in an year..

Keralam got formed after Parasuraman lifted പാതാളം (Pathal..) from underneath ocean to and as സുതലം (Suthala..)  .. Hence Mahabali is the ചക്രവർത്തി (Emperor ) of Keralam ie സുതലം now..  So when we address both the പാതാളം and സുതലം stories, Mahabali was perhaps first send to Pathala Lokam by Vamana Moorthi and then got lifted into the Suthala  (or Kerala) Lokam by Lord Parashuram perhaps symbolizing also a Right Tick (√ ) Mark .. 

During Onam Mahabali goes for an all world tour  where he was king once upon a time, from the day of അത്തം ..  The വൃത്താകാരം of അത്തപ്പൂക്കളം indicate such a Global visit of the whole world by Mahabali starting from അത്തം .. And on the day of Thiruvonam, Mahabali comes back to the സുതലം that got lifted by Parashuram later from Pathalam, denoted as Keralam now .. And on the Thiruvonam day Keralites celebrate the return journey of their ചക്രവർത്തി back to സുതലം after winning over the hearts of the whole world spreading the message of sacrifice, once again probably,  where he been the ruler once .. 

The പൂക്കൾ, കുരുത്തോല etc etc, are poured on the way back to his castle that is protected by വാമന മൂർത്തി .. 

This could be the real ഐതീഹ്യം of Onam, if we make a deduction out of the whole kinds of stories that are  spreading about Onam .. 🙏 .. Prayers and Praises to all the Lords, Mahabali and Vamana Moorthi .. 🙏 ..
